Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (MLK Day) is an American holiday that remembers the work and life of one of the most famous civil rights activists, Martin Luther King, Jr.
King was the leader of the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s, advocating for the use of peaceful tactics to fight against racism, poverty, and economic injustice. One of his most notable achievements was his “I Have a Dream” speech, in which King spoke about his hope that equal rights could be extended to everyone regardless of race.
