During Halloween, Americans love to carve pumpkins. These pumpkins are called “Jack O’ Lanterns” and are the perfect spooky decorations! 🎃🎃🎃
You will need a carving knife, something to poke holes with, something to scrape with, and of course a pumpkin! Note, if you use a marker to draw on your pumpkin (such as I did), you can later remove the marks with rubbing alcohol.
1. Cut the top off your pumpkin. Note: When carving the pumpkin, using the hole poking tool can make initial cuts or changing directions easier.
2. Scoop all the pumpkin insides and seeds out. Pumpkin seeds can be later roasted for a yummy snack!
3. Carve your pumpkin into any design you like. You can first draw out a pattern like I did.
4. Replace the cap of your pumpkin.
5. Place a light source (such as a candle) inside the pumpkin.
